God As King | The Identity Trap

Mar 2, 2025

Our world constantly pushes us to measure our worth by numbers—followers, income, achievements, or status. King David fell into this same temptation when he took a census of Israel, seeking confidence in his strength rather than God's provision. His decision led to consequences for himself and the entire nation. However, David’s story doesn’t end in failure. When he realized his mistake, he repented, threw himself on God's mercy, and sought restoration.

Like David, we must recognize when we have placed our identity in accomplishments rather than God's grace. God does not measure our worth by what we achieve but by His love for us. When we acknowledge our misplaced priorities and surrender to Him, He forgives, restores, and reminds us that our true value comes from being His children.
